Inspired by recent personal turmoil, I chose the texts “Darkness” by Lord Byron, “Dreamland” by Lewis Carroll and “A Question” by Robert Frost due to their themes and syntax. I randomized “Darkness” and “Dreamland” in a mashup, and pushed “A Question” into it as a sort of oracle. The process was done 75 times, looking at different parts of the of the long resultant text, and for different lengths of consecutive words. Looking thru the lens of my personal and emotional state, I chose the final 3 poems that I presented, and named them “HE”, “TENDER SCARS”, and “MEN OF CLAY”. Other texts were tried against this same method for an additional 25 times, but the result was not what was desired, and so the original method and texts are what I stuck with.
